"Shalee Wanders" 1st Birthday! A Thank You To My Readers:

 

It’s been one insane year. All thanks to you.

Today is “Shalee Wanders” birthday! One year ago today I posted my first blog “The Biggest Myth About Travel” and ever since my life has become a giant whirl-wind of happiness/thankfulness/epic-ness.

First of all, I want to thank all of YOU for being the best readers in the world. Without you sharing, encouraging, commenting, subscribing and interacting with my blog the success of this first year wouldn’t have been possible. I thought ‘hey, I want to help people travel. If I inspire and help one person with this site, I’ll be happy.’ Then BAM. This site, which I thought only my family would be interested in,  exploded and became my pride & joy.

At the beginning I set a goal. If I could have 10,000 views by the end of my first year I would consider that a massive success (I never even expected 5,000). Well, not only did we break that 10,000 goal, we slaughtered it. That goal was hit and then we succeed more than 50x that amount.

Holy shit.

Never in my life did I think I would make such an impact. Never was I expected to. You guys have put up with my sarcasm, spelling errors (no editor, here!), random rants and learning experiences. I will be completely honest and say I jumped in WAY over my head in the beginning. Thank you for staying with me and learning with me.

I was completely lost before I had all of you in my life. 

Thank you. Thank you thank you thank you thank you. I am forever grateful.

Second, I am beyond excited to keep traveling, connecting and sharing stories with all of you. This is only the beginning, the future holds so many incredible things and I cannot wait to live it with you by my side. Only bigger adventures are coming and again, it’s all because of your support. You all blow my mind.

A few tears stream my cheeks as I write this to you. Thank you to those who believed in me before I believed in myself.

So before I let you go on this special day, one last note. Please keep sharing, liking, commenting and interacting with me. I love reading and responding to your emails, they make me smile every time. I am also sorry if I have yet to respond to your email, but I will, I promise! This journey is for all of us, and my joy is sharing it with all of you.
