image

Do you ever have to moments where you look back and think “I actually did that?!”

Yeah, me too.

I'm interested in hearing what some of your most breathtaking, thrilling, and stunning moments have been while traveling. Share your stories in the comments below! I'm so excited to read and learn how crazy you all are.

For some inspiration, here are 15 things I still can't believe I've done.

1. Traveling solo

If you knew me as a kid…this is just ridiculous on the scale of “things we’d never predict Shalee to do”.

2. Camping alongside a glacier in Iceland

Accompanied by a bottle of Herbal Liquor...

3. Getting poison Ivy on my butt

Female peeing in the wild can sometimes have consequences.

4. Free climbing waterfalls in Hawaii

No rope? No problem! Just don’t slip and fall the 40 feet to the bottom, then ya might get a bruise.

5. Freediving underwater caves in Tobermory

60 feet of caves and I forgot my goggles, which resulted in a 99 cent child pair for ages 6-12.

6. Getting an interview for Columbia’s “Director Of Toughness”

Hi high school me, yeah you, the one who intentionally switched her schedule to get out of weight training...just…what the hell?

7. Hiking the entire Grand Canyon in under 9 hours

(Aka the only way to avoid all tourists)

8. Going to Australia

It was only my dream since FOREVER.

9. Standing atop the Half Dome in Yosemite

Still laughing at my 19-year-old self thinking I was totally prepared for this climb (P.S. I’d never climbed a mountain before).

10. Watching the northern lights on the beach

Does this even need an explanation?

11. 70 (maybe 80?) foot cliff jumping

I questioned it for a moment before the guy in front of us jumped completely naked.

12. Getting addicted to coffee

NO. YOU DON’T NEED IT. NO. Okay, fine no creamer double sugar plz.

13. Freediving in sand shark caves

Tension, fear, and adrenaline never felt so good.

14. Finally completing the snowboard, wakeboard, surf trifecta.

Rocket Power goal achieved…even if I biff regularly on a wakeboard.

15. Starting a blog

What the heck?! When did this happen?! What’s a blog?!

Now it's your turn! Let's get this discussion rolling. 🙂

Happy travels!

Jealous!! I wanted to do that SO BAD when I was there, but we got to the place and it was sold out for the day. Bummer!

That’s a tough one! Probably camping under the stars in Colorado and getting to go to SE Asia.

My friend and I went to Spain on our 2015 college spring break. We drove from Michigan to Toronto because the flights were so much cheaper, had a stop in France, and finally made it to Spain . We met up with our high school French teacher and his wife. We wandered around the streets of Fuengirola and Malaga, some of the most beautiful towns, played in a thousand year old huge fort, and saw a real Roman amphitheatre. Had the most amazing food of my life, paella. And on our last day we took a bus to Gibraltar and it was a huge let down. Chinese gift shops, fake English accents, and mostly Spanish workers with nothing truly British to eat.
And missing out train stop, getting searched in Spain, lost in Canada, we finally made it home after 26 hours of traveling to lose another hour of sleep because of daylights saving time change. Hahaha. Best trip ever.
