Go snipe hunting
always a must.. especially when you’re a youngin”
Round Island next to Mackinac Island is a great adventure. You can rent a kayak at
http://mackinackayak.com/ and they will set up a kayak adventure to Round Island. Ask about camping on the island. There is no charge to stay on the island and there is pirate treasure buried there.

Canoe the River Raisin in Monroe.
My aunt is a nun in retirement there. We always drive the Raisin River drive into Monroe. How gorgeous!
lakenland sculpture park in the UP. its amazing and its FREE!!!
Great list! I would add Oktoberfest in Frankenmuth.
I remember going to the “Barbarian” Festival back in the 70’s…wild..
Great list & lots of commenters have added some excellent options. But I am amazed that neither (that I could detect) have suggested Walk the Mighty Mac – can only be done one day per year whereas all the others have multiple opportunities.
I would add Frankenmuth, Fishtown in Leland, and the Cherry Festival in Traverse City. When in TC stop by the Grand Traverse Pie Company for a slice of deliciousness, the State Theater for a step back in time, and a perch dinner at Sleders to kiss the moose!!!
I have completed numerous adventures on this list. I would add one to the list that i have done. Visit the BIG HOUSE, UofM! I worked there for a football season, and in the morning before a football game I would run the top walkway around the stadium.
Also add canoe the river raisin or any one of the numerous rivers. Or polar bear swim and Possey lake.
